#GODO: JUMP FIRST

I'm a firm believer in the inherent rewards that come with taking risks. I've made an entire life out of taking risks, and I'm still alive to share every one of them.

From an early age, we face the emotions that surround taking risks. These can be scary or uncertain times and we always seem to make them a much bigger deal than we should. At the crossroads of success and "you'll never know until you try" rests a simple decision between certainty or uncertainty, but at this point we're all playing by the same rules. Should I stay or should I go?

I say #goDo...every time.

I was recently chatting with a good friend of mine who's considering making a major change in her life, a massive transition that will forever change the future course of her (and her partner's) life. I could sense the fear, anxiety and even a little bit of doubt in her words. Makes sense, right? Of course it does. And here's someone who's pretty much set-up for success -- well-educated, extremely talented, confident, and the list goes on and on. So how does this individual with everything going for her have even the slightest voice of doubt? Because we all do. Even the most successful people in the world have fear and doubt, but it's the decision that comes next that separates the two. The only thing that separates you from them, is they kept going. They kept going. They kept going. Keep going. Keep #goDoing...

I have this phrase that comes to mind every time someone comes to me with a potentially risky and seemingly major decision to make in their life. I ALWAYS say this:

"The safety net is only designed for those who take risk."

Just jump and the metaphorical safety net will always appear -- that's what it's there for. It's singular purpose in life is to catch those who jump, to safely catch those who Go Do. You'll notice it's always the risk-takers who always live to share their stories, more often than not, of success.

This, I promise you.

What risk are you considering today? What risks have you taken in the past? And what happened?

I think I know the answer...
